Hello, I’m Julia

A filmmaker.
A storyteller.
A curious human.

I’m drawn to stories: how they’re written, how they’re told, and the people who bring them to life.

A little about me

From words
to worlds.

I’m Julia Yaeger, a Wisconsin-based filmmaker and a graduate of Western Michigan University’s Film, Video, and Media Studies program, with a minor in Multimedia Arts Technology–Music.

At WMU, I found a creative community in Bronco Studios. Working on short films and music videos gave me the chance to explore different parts of a set—from writing and directing to camera, lighting, and sound.

Writing and workshopping the story for B.Y.O.B. was a particularly meaningful part of that experience. I’m interested in the language behind a film: the words that shape a character, a scene, or a whole world.

I care about collaboration, listening, and making room for different stories. That curiosity carries into my work with moving images, music, and photography.
